REMOTE FIELD EDDY CURRENT TESTING

Remote Field Eddy Current Testing (RFET) is one of several electromagnetic testing methods based on the transmission of an eddy current through the tube material. This NDT technique is mainly used to find defects in steel pipes and tubes.

We use Remote Field Eddy Current Testing for finding defects in ferromagnetic components. This technique is best for detection and sizing of corrosion and mechanical damage in the tubes. We are capable to perform testing Remote Field Eddy Current Testing services to power plants, oil and gas refineries, on shore & offshore pipe lines and other industrial facilities.

REMOTE FIELD EDDY CURRENT TESTING PROCESS

An alternating current is passed through a coil in order to create an alternating magnetic field which is used to induce a eddy current field into the material under test. Discontinuities such as fatigue cracks will interrupt the flow of eddy currents and alter the terminal impedance of the test coil. The amplitude and phase of the received signal can be interpreted to ascertain the severity and exact location of any discontinuities found.

INTERNAL ROTARY INSPECTION SYSTEM

We use the latest ultrasonic method Internal Rotary Inspection system (IRIS) for the non-destructive testing of tubes and pipes in oil and gas, marine and industrial applications. IRIS will help in detection of metal loss from the inside and outside of the tube wall. Internal Rotary Inspection system is also used to inspect a wide range of materials, including ferrous, nonferrous, and non-metallic tubing.

Internal Rotary Inspection system probe consists of a rotating mirror that directs the ultrasonic beam into the tube wall. The mirror is driven by a small turbine that is rotated by water pressure. As the probe is pulled the spinning motion of the mirror results in a helical scan path. An off-centre pulse will show a distorted image of the tube due to the difference in the sound path for either side of the tube wall. We provide a complete tube inspection service with IRIS method.
